Spring is in the air - as the early season flowers bring a hint of colour and joy, banishing the winter blues away. Head Gardeners such as Lucy and Saul relish this moment in the year as the starting gun for a season of flower, foliage and ultimate fun. Gardening kicks off and all the hard work of winter enters a crescendo of horticultural wonder.

Bare-root, container-grown, woody, herbaceous - all these variations affect the way you establish these plants in your garden. There are many different right ways to plant, but there are also pitfalls to avoid - get it right now and you'll enjoy your plant investments for many years to come.
