Show Notes

Spring is in the air - as the early season flowers bring a hint of colour and joy, banishing the winter blues away. Head Gardeners such as Lucy and Saul relish this moment in the year as the starting gun for a season of flower, foliage and ultimate fun. Gardening kicks off and all the hard work of winter enters a crescendo of horticultural wonder.

At last plants are starting to put on generous new growth, as this year's spring gradually warms up. Owners of perennial borders, wall shrubs and climbers should act now, stepping in to support those plants that can't be left to their own devices. There are many different ways to stake, and both Saul and Lucy are tackling this annual task now on their respective estates. Wires, too, need attention to keep them taught and ensure they're sufficiently strong for the task. It's a busy time ahead!
